Open position: Health & Safety Specialist

Location: Alba

The figure of the Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for the management and compliance with the safety requirements required by the contract and current legislation and the correct application, by the organization, of the operating methods defined in the Quality, Environment and Safety Plan of the order. He/she will also be responsible for the preparation and revision of the Operational Safety Plan-Risk Assessment Document, as well as for verifying the correct application, by the job office functions, of the operating methods defined in the Plan, of the individual and collective protective equipment provided to employees, of the health suitability for the task and will be the interface with the Competent Doctor; it will take care of the specific training-information-training to personnel, provided for the use of PPE of III cat, vehicles, various work equipment, as well as the planned updates.

 

Specifically, it must:

  • Collaborate with the Quality, Environment and Safety Manager in the drafting of the QAS Plan.
  • Prepare and update the Operational Safety Plan/Risk Assessment Document, in accordance with the Safety and Coordination Plan and in compliance with current legislation.
  • Ensure knowledge and compliance with the health and safety plan by all personnel involved, including contractors/subcontractors.
  • Identify and propose information and training programs for workers in the field of Health and Safety, organizing them directly and/or coordinating with the competent units for the definition of specific plans.
  • Organize and conduct periodic inspections to verify the application of health and safety measures, keeping appropriate records.
  • Ensure proper storage of health and safety records.
  • Report to the Project Manager and Safety & Environment Manager/Site Manager any non-conformities found as part of the control activities, proposing appropriate corrective actions and monitoring their implementation.
  • Participate in consultations and inspections with the competent external bodies (e.g. ASL, Fire Brigade) in the field of health and safety protection.
  • Plan and implement safety meetings at regular intervals with the relevant site personnel.
  • Verify all the order documentation, concerning personnel, equipment, means and consequent risk assessment, both of the ITINERA SPA company and of the sub-contractors present on site
  • Interfacing with the CSE of the Contracting Authority and assistants, for the verification and supervision of the activities on site, verifying the application by all the workers on site of the contents of POS (Operational Safety Plan) and PSC (Safety and Coordination Plan), participating in the coordination meetings organized by the CSE (companies and external interference).
  • Draw up, with the support of the head office, the Emergency and Evacuation Plan of the construction site and share it with the relevant bodies (112, First Aid, Fire Brigade).

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the infrastructure and/or construction sector
  • Knowledge of policies, regulations and procedures relating to health and safety and protection of workers
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering preferred
